Arpasu de Sus is a village 46 kilometres away from Sibiu, crossed by two mountain streams, Arpasu Mare and Arpasel. Its presence was first recorded in 1589. A charming village where an old way of life still persists. Most villagers have smallholdings that they still work, and local organic produce can be obtained from them (free-range eggs, organic vegetables, local trout and fresh meat). This is a place where you can literally watch the cows come home (at 7:30 every evening). The village has a number of shops, including a small but well-stocked supermarket in the middle of the village. There are also a few larger supermarkets in the surrounding area: Lidl in Victoria (7 km away) or Carrefour in Sibiu or Fagaras (30 Km away).
